Chadds Ford Wedding
Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania is a small township 30 miles southwest of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in Delaware County. Prior to 1996, Chadds Ford Township was known as Birmingham Township, Delaware County, the name being changed as to allow the township to correspond to both its census-designated place, and to reflect on its role in the Battle of the Brandywine.
Chadds Ford was home to N.C. Wyeth, his son Andrew Wyeth and grandson Jamie Wyeth. Brandywine Battlefield State Park is located in the Township, along with the Brandywine River Museum, which houses most of the Wyeth collection. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 22.7 km (8.8 mi). 22.5 km (8.7 mi) of it is land and 0.2 km (0.1 mi) of it (0.80%) is water. As of the census2 of 2000, there were 3,170 people, 1,314 households, and 910 families residing in the township. The population density was 140.7/km (364.2/mi). There were 1,338 housing units at an average density of 59.4/km (153.7/mi). The racial makeup of the township was 95.27% White, 1.07% African American, 0.06% Native American, 2.78% Asian, 0.47% from other races, and 0.35% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.42% of the population.
